Jeff Vertigo Biography
Painter – creator. Born in Bordeaux (France) in 1970
I practice: oil painting, acrylic, watercolor...
If I had to belong to a school, it would be that of the self-taught. Many renowned artists have chosen, out of conviction, not to follow a movement or an established framework, but rather to listen to that little inner voice that guides them towards their own identity, free from all conventions.
I made this choice in order to preserve my integrity, without being conditioned by academicism.
A Free and Intimate Vision of Art
What captivates me about a work is that it tells its own story. You can wander freely through it, each person drawing their own intimate emotions from it. I love this space that transports you through the rhythm of the brush on the canvas or the power of a pigment; a work takes you elsewhere while reminding you of the beauty of the world, a bit like love, which, in a mysterious whirlwind, sublimates reality through its suspended moments. It is with passion that I pursue this quest every day in my studio.
Creation, Maturity, and the Search for Light
After a life rich in experiences and travels, meeting the woman of my life changed my perspective: today, I feel completely free to express the creativity that lives within me. Creation sometimes requires a certain maturity.
I set no limits to the subjects I tackle; instinctively nature, love, poetry, etc. emerge. And always this search for light: the one that warms, soothes, reveals its magic to us when we linger to observe life.
I try to follow my own path with rigor, humility, and sincerity. This alchemy between the movement of the brush, the vivid intensity of a deep blue or a captured ray of light... touches on the universality of art.
